African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) Fellowships

THE GENDER & DIVERSITY program invites applications for the first round of fellowships under the AWARD Program. The G&D is implementing a comprehensive yet flexible program designed to build up the talent pool of promising African women in agricultural science..

The Fellowship will support African agricultural women scientists from Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia with PhD degrees, including those in post-doctoral positions, and women scientists with MA/MSc/MPhil/BA/BSc degrees

The Disciplines
Crop sciences (including horticulture), soil sciences, animal and livestock sciences, plant and animal animal virology, agroforestry, agricultural economics, aquatic resources and fisheries, food sciences and nutrition, natural resource management and ecology, biodiversity conservation, entomology, agricultural extension education, molecular biology (applied to plant/animal breeding), and water and irrigation management.

The Job: The appointee will be required to plan, execute and report on audit exercises.

The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Plan risk-based engagements, develop audit procedures and programmes and identity client controls while providing assurances on the adequacy of internal control.

Carry out audits, assist management to perform forensic investigation into suspected cases of fraud and perform consultancy services to management in line with Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) standards
Determine, plan and supervise the work of auditing professionals and subordinates in the performance of internal audits as well as visit and act as point of contact to staff undergoing audit.

The Person: The right candidate should:
• Possess a bachelor's degree obtained at a minimum of Second Class (Upper Division) with a professional certification (ACA, ACCA or CIA)
