IITA, International Agriculture Research Centre with Headquarters at Ibadan seeks to increase agricultural production in a sustainable way, in order to improve the nutritional status and wellbeing of people in tropical Sub-Saharan Africa:
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable candidates for the following position at the Institute's Headquarters in Ibadan.

FINANCE OFFICER

DUTIES:
Successful candidate will liaise with the Finance Office to ensure prompt requests for funds from donors and prompt release of funds to Principal Investigators (Pls); monitor partners' financial reporting obligations/trends and payment; assist Technical Writer and Project Administrator by providing specialist financial input; monitor burn rates and movement within project cost centres to avoid over-spending; advise Director (Project Management and Development) when financial and technical reports are finalised and submitted; liaise with Supply-Chain Unit and Finance Office in the procurement, recording and disposal of assets; retrieve information from both hard files and ProMIS to resolve queries and perform other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION:
BS/c HND Accounting or equivalent with ACA (ICAN), Msc/MBA Economics/Business Management qualifications will be added advantage. A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a complex and multi-cultural environment is desired.

CANDIDATE MUST: Be able to read and interpret MoUs/Contract Agreements correctly; have good analytical ability; be articulate in report preparation/presentation; possess strong operating knowledge of MS packages/Oracle Financial Applications; excellent inter-personal relationship and strong communication skills.


DURATION: TWO-YEAR RENEWABLE CONTRACT
