Ericsson a leader in the international telecommunications industry requires the services of dynamic, first class engineers to fill vacancies in its Customer Support Department. Competence requirements for each specialized area as stated below:
A SUPPORT ENGINEER (CORE NETWORKS)
Good working knowledge and understanding of the testing methods and tools applicable to the core network support function
Telecommunication network knowledge (PSTN, PLMN- GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS, data communication and IP technology
3G experience is and added advantage.
Protocols: TCP/IP, SS7 (MAP, INAP), FTP, LDAP, CAMEL

B. SUPPORT ENGINEER (NETWORK MANAGEMENT)
Good experience of UNIX (preferably Solaries) system administration
Good experience of UNIX Applications supply & support
Good experience of Sybase Database Administration, Internet routing, IP, X25 protocols
Knowledge of Data protocols (TCP/IP)
GPRS / MMS/ 0SS systems knowledge
Experience of integrating or supporting UNIX based and datacom products in a live or test plant environment

C SUPPORT ENGINEER (CHARGING SYSTEMS & SERVICE LAYER)
Highly developed telecom knowledge (network elements, fixed / mobile architectures, charging concepts etc
Exceptional knowledge in IN & charging system implementations
Willingness to work on and gain competence in other IN & charging system technologies
Developed knowledge in the following fields:
A) Operative systems: UNIX (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Linux), Windows
B) Databases: Oracle, Sybase, Veritas, MySQL, etc
C) Development languages: Java, C/C++, SQL, XML/XSL, JSP, Peri, Shell scripts, etc
D) Protocols: TCP/IP, CORBA, SS7 (MAP, INAP), RPC, FTP, HTIP/HTIPS, CAI, LDAP, CAMEL
E) Different platforms knowledge (SUN Solaris, AXE)

D) SUPPORT ENGINEER (ACCESS NETWORKS)
Understanding the signaling procedures within the BSS system.
Knowledge of the BSC and BTS
Ability to understand and analyse AXE printouts
Demonstrated ability to interpret TR solutions and emergency corrections.
Ability to interpret O & M related information retrieved from the system.
Knowledge of the Air and the A-Bis interfaces
Knowledge of the RBS System.

E) SOFTWARE SUPPLY ADMINISTRATOR
Advanced knowledge of Information Technology
Knowledge of at least one Multi-user Operating System
Knowledge of TCP/IP
Cisco certification will be an advantage

E) SOFTWARE SUPPLY ENGINEER
Knowledge of SMO
Good background in scripts
Ability to update and upgrade software
Experience with the Ericsson Telecommunication platform is an added advantage

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: -In addition to the above specialized requirements, all applicants are required to have the following attributes:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science / Systems Engineering, or in a similar discipline
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
High level of interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team
Ability to take control of situations and show initiative
High level of understanding in written and spoken English
Knowledge of the Ericsson organization, subsidiaries and products.
Good Knowledge of the English Language, both oral & written
Ability to participate in 24h emergency (or other) assistance, with interfaces to Global Support organizations as required
Ability to participate in Customer Request handling
