Job Vacancy Details Job Title: Chief Geologist - Bayelsa Oil Our client, Bayelsa Oil Company Ltd, following the acquisition of marginal & offshore fields intends to set up a structure to support this growth and enlarge its market share beyond the shores of the country to the West and South of Africa. The company thus seeks highly skilled professionals to fill the position of Chief Geologist. Location: - Yenagoa, Nigeria Company: - Bayelsa Oil Company Limited Key Responsibilities/Skills: -

These include:

• Managing the preparation of detailed well proposals and other documents.

• Working with the industry regulator to gain all necessary approvals.

• Managing all geological well activities (communications, QC, reporting etc).

• Verifying data acquisition programmes.

• Managing the preparation of operational contracts ( e.g. wireline, mud logging, LWD, coring).

• Evaluating & generating prospects.

• Managing the process for risk analysis and ranking of prospects.

• Play a role in post well evaluation programmes including.

• Managing the preparation/planning and QC of 3rd party studies.

• Liaise with the regulator to ensure smooth communication and approval of work programmes.

• Maintain JOB well database.

• Support the reserve determination and reporting requirements.

Other Requirements: - Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A BSc/MSc in Geology, Geophysics or related field.

• Strong skills in Geosciences and Geology with a minimum of 7 years experience.

• Background in drilling operations and well site geology with experience in preparing well proposals and covering day to day geological operations.

• Experience in dealing with industry regulators and partners.

• Experience in the use of industry standard interpretation software.
